Hand rotating maney or a prayer wheel is a personal religious object which most of the people in Ladakh will have especially the older generation. It contains manuscript folded inside which has prayers hand written on it. It is rotated and prayers are chanted while rotating in believe that we will procure some good karma and also for the welfare of all living beings. The most common and the most powerful mantra is “OM MANI PADME HOON” which is a compassion mantra of Lord Buddha.
