Tsampa (Barley) flour is a very important source of food in the Himalayan belt, it gives a good amount of energy and fills up your stomach. In earlier times most of the people in Ladakh use to consume barley flour for meals and also along with tea and local beer. This Tsampa pot is for storing barley flour.
This is a well-decorated and very old heirloom pot made of apricot wood and hand painted. A pot like this would be used by the Royal Family or an Aristocrat, common people would use plain pot.
