Tsampa (Barley) flour is a very important source of food in the Himalayan belt, it gives a good amount of energy and fills up your stomach. In earlier times most of the people in Ladakh use to consume barley flour for meals and also along with tea and local beer. This Tsampa pot is for storing barley flour.
This wood is called Zab, which is high quality wood and it is rare. Usually these kind of wood are used only for high Lamas.
