Vajrapani is a protector deity, a manifestation of Mahakala. He holds a Vajra or a septor in his right hand and the left hand near the heart. This is how you can identify him. Vajrapani also known as “Chag na Dorje” in Tibetan is a bodhisattva and commonly found with Manjushri and Avalokesteshvara as a trio symbolizing Buddhas power.
This is a silver Vajrapani embedded with semi-precious stones such as coral and turquoise. The height is about 15inches tall and width is about 6 inches wide. This is handcrafted by local artist from Ladakh, to keep it in home temples and other auspicious places in house. According to the condition and the work done on this, the age of this piece is between 40-55 years old. We have few pieces of artifacts of that time period.
